I know it's St. Patrick's Day but I made an Indian meal today. There are a number of  tandoori paste recipes out there but I chose this one because I had all of the ingredients and didn't have to make any substitutions. A few years ago I ran across a wonderful post on Diethood which had links to a collection of microwaved 'cakes in a mug'. I copied several of the recipes and even made one ... a "Strawberries and Cream" version. I served it with some macerated strawberries on top.

With a lovely mango ripening on the counter and about half a clamshell of ripe local strawberries in my fridge I used the internet to look for interesting ideas of ways to use them up. On the way home from work on Friday, I stopped in at the Indian grocery store and picked up a pound box of sweets. Which served as the inspiration to this weekend's menu. I also picked up a few other goodies to round out the meal.

While searching through my freezer, I ran across a frozen banana in a freezer bag, that had fallen to the bottom. I had most of a carton of dark chocolate milk from the orange and chocolate panna cotta I made last week, so I combined them into a rich and creamy smoothie. Not very original but still a great drink.
