Easy Korean Beef Bowl and Matzoh Ball Soup

I'm always up for trying another cuisine and one of the blogs I follow often has very interesting Korean recipes. Of course, the most famous Korean dish is probably kimchi ... and one day, I may try to make my own. Could you form them with an ice cream scoop and just drop them into the liquid to poach? That's how I do my meatballs.

I guess so, if you had one small enough. I just use a regular teaspoon to scoop the mixture out and gently form them into balls, I put them on a plate until I've got them all made. Then, take them over to the pot of water and gently drop them in.

It's a good thought especially as the 'sweep' on the ice cream/cookie scoop can form and push it out into the simmering water. With periodic dips in the water, it helps sweep it out cleanly if you have a stiffer mixture. I just don't have one of the right size. :)

You should make them. They're delicious and a lot less work than making noodles. They puff up in size about double while cooking. Some people only have one matzoh ball per bowl. I made them a bit smaller and had 2.

TBG doesn't like them. There's so many other things he does like that it just makes sense to do those instead.

I have to admit that at times it's a little frustrating, but he has so few dislikes that it's just easier.
