We got over three inches of snow overnight and, although the sun didn't make an appearance today, it was relatively mild. Choosing one favourite gemstone is a tough question. I'm rather fond of rubies and emeralds, not that I'm dripping with either... I also love peridot, moonstone, labradorite, and malachite. And tho they are not gemstones, I adore pearls.
One of my favourite pieces of jewellery is called Pele's Song and was made for me by a friend. It has lace agate (cut and polished by another friend) citrine, carnelian, garnet, fire opals, and topaz. I've been meaning to share a photo of it on my LJ since I had posted wip pics while she was creating it.

As I say, too many to mention! I love carnelian, and lapis lazuli, and... The list goes ever onward, lol! Looking forward to hitting the Gemboree in August.

So diamonds and amber are all gemstones.
I have a strand of amber I bought at the Chicago Field Museum years ago and a pair of amber earrings but no moonstones or lapis.
