Picspam: Good Friday meal

Apr 03, 2015 17:57

Many Catholics fast (only one full meal) or, at least, abstain (no meat), on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday even if they don't during Lent.

I'm pretty much a lapsed Catholic, but today's supper paid tribute to that practice.

Garlic shrimp over fettuccine

Salad and hot cross bun (from the bakery)

Buttered hot cross bun ... cause we all need an extra pat of butter in our lives

I bought frozen, cooked shrimp and flavoured them with lemon zest, dried basil and parsley and red pepper flakes and sauted them with minced garlic in a mixture of unsalted butter and extra virgin olive oil. So pretty ... you can see why I enjoy cooking.
