In case you were wondering ...

... I still have my moments of irreverent snark. These days they are often political. Here's one I recently posted on Facebook (with minor alterations for format):

This bill, requiring a 24 hour waiting period and a note from your partner detailing your sexual inadequacies in order to get Viagra, should not pass in its current form; it is simply not thorough enough. Where is the requirement for a cardiologist's review to ensure that the male in question is healthy enough to engage in protracted sexual activity? And verification from their priest or rabbi that they are in a divinely sanctioned relationship and, depending on their faith, that they will be engaging in those activities solely for reproductive purposes? Their sexual partner's fertility and willingness to bear children must also be taken into account, along with the couple's financial ability to support those children. A full medical workup, including prostrate exam, should be performed to screen for any potential health problems in the intended offspring.

Also, Viagra should only be able to dispensed at pharmacies that are located at least 1 mile from any schools, child-care facilities, brothels, or cheap motels. Such facilities should be required to meet strict guidelines, including the installation of individual privacy booths for all customers to avoid any possibility of minors being exposed to the evidence of intended sexual activity.

I'm on FB a lot these days. It's a bit random: I post things I find amusing, some political stuff, pics and stories about my kids, art that amazes me, and things that outrage me. Now that I'm no longer working, it seems like the whole anonymity thing can get relaxed a bit. If you are interested in friending my little corner of FB, please send me a message with your details.

To be clear, my page is not public and I will only give friend requests to people I feel I got to know here. Much as I love and appreciate all the people who have been fans of my writing, I take the 'friends' part of my friendslist seriously. I hope no one takes offence, but I need to feel safe and comfortable in my virtual space.
