Dr. Who - Waters of Mars

seriously brilliant.

A lot of Dr. Who drives me crazy. The Tinkerbell says clap your hands so the Doctor can live from a few years ago drove me around the bend.

But this - this was awesome.

First having the monster be water? So simple, yet frightening. Because The Doctor is right - eventually water erodes mountains. There is no defense against water.

But the best part was, of course, the whole ending. When he decided that since he's the only Time Lord left, he'll make his own damn rules. When you are all powerful, who is there to tell you no? It's why a companion is so vital. Because otherwise humans are just chess pieces to The Doctor, pawns for his amusement.

And yet, as the captain's suicide proved, he can't control everything. There is still free will.

This arrogance has been in play for a long time, it reached its zenith here. I'm really curious what's next.
