End of Season Two

I have been thinking about Ashes (I am supposed to be revision so it seemed like the sensible thing to do) And I have a question about the end of season two and how it related to whats going on now and all the theories about the ~meaning of life~

Cut for theories. No definite spoilers )

I've wondered about that too... cause if he really was some sort of angel/whatever, he should know about it. On the other hand he never questioned her when she talked about other future stuff, so maybe he really was just pretending? But I don't know how he'd let it go as far as it went in that ep just pretending...

I mean the Kears = Evil, Gene = Good theory is becoming pretty obvious, but there are still those lose strings like that episode and other minor details. I guess we'll just have to wait and see?

My theory as far as Gene (and many of the other characters) is that something traumatic happened and they forgot/are in a state of denial. Being powerful, the denial created this world.

As to what the thing is that triggered the creation of this world, that I have no theories on.

Though, maybe having seen episode six of series three, there may be a clue to that.

I know some people like the idea that ghost cop is Gene. What if, seeing as Gene has a picture, Ghost Cop is Gene's son? We know Gene had a wife, and theoretically I think he's 40-55 years old physically. Old enough to have had children. It would also tie in nicely to the odd opening we had with the boy playing with the car.

Course that mucks about with the all powerful theory some. It depends really, on why you think all powerful beings needed human bodies.

GENE: What, you- you analysing yourself now? You love it, don't you? The sound of your own voice. Is that what you do of a night? Sit at home talking into a machine, working out ways of bringing me down ( ... )
