I felt it necessary to inform everyone through no small amount of coercion that I, Remus John Lupin, am a werewolf.

If Val would let me I would say a sort of puppy that only appears on the full moon each month, but she won't.

A werewolf is a human who's been infected with lycanthropy, which turns them into a large, vicious beast for one night on the full moon each month. The condition is transferable by bite, incurable, and very dangerous.

It's really not cool for the people who could possibly catch it. And the transformation is quite painful.

But yes, the condition has inspired many horror stories.

To be honest it's better than you thinking I'm a monster. I'll take what I can get.

I would hate to see a romance story about a werewolf. It would be terribly sad, and most likely badly written.

In my world that is, almost word for word, the definition of a monster. One who kills and hurts others, often viciously, and without reason, rationality, or mercy, i.e. a werewolf.

Like most the romance novels here?

Humans certainly sound weaker than trolls, if that's your normal modus operandum.

Shamefully, I was so desperate for something to read at one point that I did read them.

They were abysmal.

Ah. The growing up you were talking about before?

Some of the books are informative, only, you've got to wade through the... well, useless ones before that. There are a few classics on those shelves worth a read.

That is not at all what we call romance. Why are they called quadrants?
