Sunday Afternoon [after Billy-being-stupid-time] OTA iwantbluefont July 11 2011, 00:10:41 UTC
Billy had kept his promise and made it back to the train without incident. He felt an idiot for making everyone worry, particularly when he'd partially gone out there in the first place to distract himself from the worry that was all ready mounting in the train. Kate and Tommy had been much closer Amalia than Billy, and waiting for the list to appear...Billy wasn't sure how to comfort them if she appeared on it. It had been stupid, but he thought if he could fix things with Accelerator, take control over something, than he wouldn't feel so lost with everything else.

Only then he'd made every one worry more. Not his shinning moment.

He stepped into the compartment, fully ready to be lectured, and frankly, quite grateful for it. Good intentions or not, it was a stupid thing to do.

Because "Billy-being-stupid-time" is an official time now. /loling notaspeedyhobo July 11 2011, 00:39:10 UTC
Tommy had been worried. Hellishly worried. Normally he wouldn't worry so goddamn much, because Billy's an adult (or at least as much of an adult as Tommy) and capable of taking care of himself, for the most part, but. The terminations list had shaken him to the core. More than he was letting on, though Kate and Billy would recognize it immediately. They knew him too well. So when Billy finally stepped into the compartment, Tommy basically just said 'to hell with it' and immediately pulled him into a tight, brotherly hug, burying his face against his twin's hair. He shook a little, almost vibrating.

He didn't have to speak to say 'I was worried'. Nor did he have to speak to say 'Don't fucking do that again.' A punch to the arm took care of that nicely.

:'D, also Aww Tommy, why are you so precious!? iwantbluefont July 11 2011, 01:02:35 UTC
Billy's eyes widened a moment, but his face was soon softened by a smile, and he hugged him back apologetically, holding him close. He looked concerned with the shaking, rubbing his back in a way that was reminiscent of his mother without really meaning to.

He winced at the punch, but still managed to smile, looking into Tommy's eyes to make sure he really understood how sorry he was. For everything.

Tommy met his brother's gaze, and his lips tightened into a thin line. He can't help but be angry, so goddamned angry at everything - at the interns for taking Amalia, at Billy for taking stupid risks. What if he had run into something nasty out there by himself? What if he hadn't come back? What if Tommy had lost his brother, too? A surrogate little sister that he hadn't been able to protect was bad enough, but to lose his twin would just kill Tommy inside.

He punched him in the arm again, a little harder, to show that he meant it, and then he hugged his brother again.

That punch earned a small unbidden noise in the back of his throat, and he grit his teeth against the shock that followed it, cheeks flushing. He really should have seen that coming. He leaned into the hug, squeezing his twin tightly, pressing his forehead briefly against Tommy's and letting out a slow breath.

He didn't want to think about what would happen if he lost him. As quickly as he'd come into his life he'd managed to make Billy care for him as much as he did for the brothers he'd grown up with, and at times he was just as obnoxious as them, which was...nice actually, in its familiarity.

This is about the time that Kate comes back into the car. She's looking more than a little tired and has a bandage on her stomach, right at the top of the long scar from several weeks ago. When she sees the twins she's silent for a minute, relief visibly crossing over her face. This is of course followed by her going over and smacking Billy lightly on the back of the head. She then pulls out her 'berry and sends him a quick message.

'I swear, it must be your mission in life to give me a heart attack or something.'

Tommy exhaled at the same time as his twin, an unconscious synching between two halves of a whole. He didn't want to think about it either. He had never had a brother before Billy, and it had always felt... like he was alone. Like something was missing. When he met Billy, when they started to figure things out, it started to make sense. They were brothers.

And Tommy didn't want to ever lose him.

When Kate walked in, he was quick to tug away from his brother - an automatic reaction, don't show weakness in front of others, but he relaxed when he saw who it was. The smack to the back of Billy's head just made him stifle a laugh; he settled for giving his twin the 'you're in trouble now' grin.

Billy was better at biting back a noise this time, settling for a look that conveyed the same, and rubbing at his head with a small smile. His eyes skirted after Tommy, brows knitting in a brief 'help me' look.

He was quick to write back, holding it up for both of them to see.
Unfortunate side effect.
His expression was one of more sincere apology than his teasing reply suggested though.

That response gets an eyeroll before Kate hugs Billy tight. She's not really mad, which he probably knows. She just doesn't think she could handle losing someone she's as close to as she is to Billy right after losing Amalia. It's really just too much for one week. Sure, Billy would come back in a few days but that's beside the point. She pulls back from the hug after a minute, typing a message and holding it out for both Tommy and Billy to see before reaching up to ruffle Billy's hair.

'Between the two of you I'll be lucky to make it to 20. I hope you both realize this and feel appropriately guilty'

When Kate went to hug Billy, Tommy - never one to be left out of things - moved to wrap his arms around them both. Group hug, yep. Sappy? Yes. Would he deny it to anyone who ever asked about it? Yes. But he loved his brother, and he loved Kate (as his best friend, if nothing else), and he had cared for Amalia, and this was turning out to be a difficult week. He - and they - needed the support, the solidarity. He pulled back when Kate did, though, and peered at the message, managing a small smile and leaning in quickly to peck her on the cheek.

It really was good that it was just the three of them here, the whole group hugging might look like a strange sort of sports huddle. He squeezed Kate back, lips twitching into a bigger grin when Tommy joined, and making a face when his hair was mussed.

He almost laughed, pulling back to try and comb it back into place with his fingers while Kate got her kiss. He started to type up a reply then, but couldn't manage quite what he wanted to say, and instead settled for shaping his fingers into a heart, and kissing her other cheek.

When Tommy kisses her cheek, Kate just smiles and sticks her tongue out at him in an incredibly mature gesture. Not that she actually minded the kiss at all. The heart that Billy made with his fingers and the kiss on her other cheek got another smile. The three of them were pretty good at this while non-verbal communication thing. Which was surprising, especially from Tommy. She typed out another message and showed it to them.

'You guys are lucky I happen to like you both. No more running off on your own, got it Bill?'

Tommy doesn't seem to mind the oh-so-mature gesture, or that she doesn't stick her tongue out at Billy when he does the same thing. And he doesn't mind Billy kissing his girlfriend's cheek; the twins and Kate... have a bit of an odd relationship, he knows this, and so he doesn't mind. They're all just ridiculously close. He slings an arm around each of them, leaning his head against Billy's for a moment, then Kate's.

The message makes him snort, a quick exhale from his nose, thankfully not something that qualifies as 'making noise'. He nudges his twin and nods at the 'berry as if to reiterate that he agrees with the 'no more Billy going off on his own'.

Billy smiles at the cozy little set up, and crosses a finger in an 'x' over his heart, promising. No more going off. They could stay attached at the hip like this; it was nice. Why couldn't all lectures be like this?

He types one handedly before holding up the berry again, concern creasing his features.

You guys okay?

Kate smiled at the closeness too, reaching up to twine her fingers through Tommy's. She was glad that he didn't have the same jealous reaction to her being close to Billy that he did to Tim. Then again, Billy and Tim were two different people. Not that anything Tommy did ever made sense. She gave Billy a tiny smile at the message, typing one back.

'As good as can be expected, I guess'.

Everything Tommy did made sense in a strange way. Why be jealous of Billy? He and Kate are the two people Tommy is closest to, and even if he won't admit it, he loves them both dearly. And Billy didn't want to come between him and Kate, didn't want to steal her away or anything of the sort - he is a part of their bond, something that belongs. Tim didn't belong.

Tommy gives Kate's hand a little squeeze when she twines her fingers with his. So much for his 'I don't hold hands' rule. At the typed messages, he exhales and types out one of his own.

alright. holding up.
