Since my brain was so fried towards the end of March, I could only concentrate on bad movies. First we tried Professor X and Harry Potter's attempt at Frankenstein. I would use real names, but my brain is still pretty tired. It's James McAvoy and...oh gosh, not Elijah Wood...his name can't also be James...maybe it start's with a D? Daniel Radcliff! Yes! Alright, but Professor X and Harry Potter is catchier.
The movie is the very standard "retelling" of a classic story. There's really nothing awful about it, but it's just not very good. Like, can't Professor X do better? I don't know much about Harry Potter's career post Harry Potter, but I also imagine he could do better.
On the other hand, I, Frankenstein was just baaaad. It stars Two-Face, a.k.a Harvey Dent, real name is...I feel like it starts with an E...oh wait! It's like Aaron Egghart, Eggard, Edger, or something like that. Definitely Aaron, though. Gosh, I just sound like I'm brain dead. I blame watching this movie.
So I would say Victor Frankenstein is watchable if you're looking for a bad movie to pass the time. Don't even try I, Frankenstein.
It's rare when Henry and I disagree on things and we disagree on this movie and the previously-mentioned Annihilation. He thought this movie wasn't so bad while I had to suspend belief through so much of the movie that I just can't deal with it.
The basic premise is the privacy vs. oversharing aspect of social media. But the main character's actions and decisions were just so bizarre and unexplained that I couldn't fathom what she was trying to do. Hermione Granger looks really pretty though...real name...Emma Watson?
But, well, it's nice to disagree now and then.
...or, when Tom Cruise starts melting. I mean, he should start thinking about keeping his shirt on from now on.
In any event, the first movie is a fairly okay action/thriller and the end was somewhat amusing with the bro-ish telephone calls. The second movie is so unmemorable to me that all I can say at the moment is that it ends in New Orleans? Oh, man, is my brain tired!
Hey, since I'm not that busy at work right now, let me do some writing on my Great American Novel! I'm sure my lack of thinking ability will help!
