Drinking Game: 2018 Winter Olympics Edition
I actually don't recall if they televise the parade of nations for the winter Olympics. But I hope they do!
Take a sip when:
* Non-white (not counting East Asian) nations make an appearance
* A country has three or less athletes
* Athletes wear their flag like a cape
* TV commentators talk about North Korea
* Americans are douchebags (use your own judgment)
* A "Yeah, 'Merica!" moment (use your own patriotic judgment)
Take a bigger sip when:
* North and South Korea do something together
* A country has two or less athletes
* Russia shows up, don't care about being banned, and flies the Russian flag anyways
Take a gulp when:
* The ceremony goes off without a hitch
* The ceremony completely derails when North Korean agents storm the venue and take over the world with threats of nuclear holocaust.
Take a sip when:
* (Figure Skating): Quads
* (Figure Skating): Commentators talk about costume/skater personality/gossip over actual sport/program/artistry
* (Figure Skating): A throw ends horribly wrong
* (All sports): "Ow, that looks painful."
Take a bigger sip when:
* (Figure Skating): Someone performs more than three quads in a short program/five quads in a long program
* (Figure Skating): Top-ranking male skater performs no quads and still gets high scores
* (Figure Skating): Female skater attempts a quad (another sip if she lands on foot/feet/hand)
Take a gulp when:
* (Figure Skating): Quad Axel happens (either attempted or landed)
And unrelated, but for the time when we need to eventually make it through the rest of the X-Files season:
Take a sip when:
* Mulder/Scully trust/don't trust someone they formerly didn't trust/trusted and it goes back and forth throughout the whole episode (including each other).
* Throwback reference to the good old times when the X-Files was good.
* Scully spews medical/scientific jargon.
* Mulder spews tabloid/fringe science "news" no one cares about.
* Product placement.
Take a bigger sip when:
* A character/plot point you didn't care about before shows up and they make it seem like a Big Deal.
* Mythology is boring.
* Actual paranormal events happen.
Take a gulp when:
* The season ends. Yay!
