i learned tonight that there is a world of difference in getting your ass schooled by a guy who is a fencing enthusiast and getting said ass schooled by someone who was once the UK champion and was nominated to go to the olympics for Britain back in 73
i didn't feel nearly as bad abuot losing after i found that out, even tho i fairly enjoyed the bout regarldess of my ineptitude. he was very helpful in instructing me in how to improve in little increments and i did much better in my later bouts with some of the other beginners (even tho the only other beginner fenced back in college so she's not entirely a beginner)
i'm seriously starting to love this sport. all i need is a bag for all my junk!
