Techno tried to defile the NaNoWriMo...
Sorry, no, this isn't actually a NaNoWriMo post. Alas, due to many factors, some extenuating, some just my own damn fault, I won't be completing the 50k in a month. I know I know, big surprise. Anyways, I do have a good reason for not getting more done before then... and it's the part that has me both sad and irritated.
Those of you who know me know I've been using a craptastic laptop I bought from Northern when I graduated. Yeah, that was '04. Yeah, it was used when I got it. Now it's doing this awesome thing where if I move it to, say, get up to go to the bathroom, it's got an 80% chance of losing power and turning off. It did it to me three times before I narrowed down what exactly was happening. At first I thought it was just the cord, but Luke had spares kicking around and, alas, it still does it. (and now the fucking period key is sticking so I have to beat on it to make it work... GRRRRRR!) So yeah, I move around a lot when I write... and losing sensation to my legs doesn't help me channel my muse. The damn bastards. And I'd just gotten that sweet NaNoWriMo icon, too. Ah well.
