Back Aboard Voyager

Hoo boy, what a week.

The mission didn't go quite like I expected. The forecast wasn't as accurate as Seven (seven_of_nine) predicted, but that wasn't her fault. The storms were highly unpredictable. I had to keep my eye on the ball several hours at a time until the storms calmed down, then they'd flare up again.

The biggest hit was right out of my field of view at the time. It's a good thing I've been not only training on the holodeck, but also that B'Elanna (paristorres) made the ship more responsive than it used to be. It really helped when I fought against the atmospheric pressure around the hull, burning against the shields.

I don't remember much about the impact. I think I blacked out, but I remember being awake moments afterward, seeing _Tuvok_ and Sam pretty much looking as injured, if not worse.

Thankfully the Doc's(emh) training paid off, Sam's injuries postphoned by my first aid. I've already thought about what would have happened if I wasn't trained, or if someone else went on this mission, but I don't want to think about it. It's too disturbing thinking like that. At one point, I started thinking about life aboard Voyager if I hadn't made it back. I don't know if that's just me recovering from a near-death experience or just disturbing thoughts, but it's kept me awake once or twice this week.

I'm still gearing up for B'Elanna's (paristorres)dinner, that is, our dinner together, and the recipe I've chosen will absolutely tear up my Replicator rations, but apparently it's quite a recipe. I've simulated making it on the holodeck, which didn't go too well when I began, but I got the hang of it. It also reminds me that I wanted to look up "Pu'kka Tuk'ka" in the LCARS language database. The simulator chef kept using the term, and I have no clue what it means.

Anyway, got to go, Sickbay shift starts in a few minutes, and thanks to Captain kathrynjaneway, my Helm duties aren't as often as usual, but I still have my medical duties, and thankfully Doc (emh) was curious about the collection of music I have on my personal database. I've listed them on a PADD, and we're going to get the Computer to play a few on request.

I can't wait until he hits the entry I renamed 'Alfred Matthew Yankovic'.
