so, i can't believe it's near the end of June already. i've been at my job for a month now, & the last week has been pretty good. the other summer students were finally hired, so at least when i'm bored out of my skull, i'll have someone to bother. ^^ they're a guy & a girl, both 2 years younger than me. the girl is only a year behind me in uni though, cos she skipped a grade. also, the guy is the valedictorian of his class. so basically, their IQs pwn mine. :( i only hope this is not apparent to my boss, who, speaking of which, i have not really talked to in awhile. *weeps dejectedly in corner*
ah well, all is good thanks to FUTBOL! well not really, actually, seeing that Netherlands was crushed by Russia today. (crushed oranje, get it? harhar.) >( i am officially anti-Russia, mainly cos their fans (at least those on LJ) are one of the most classless bunch i've ever seen. do i look like i CARE about what Putin thinks about my teams?! go get a life kthx. anyway, my teams are/were Spain, Netherlands & Sweden, but now only Spain is left. and maybe not for long? ugh i'm praying so hard that they win Italy tomorrow. T_T either way, the winner needs to kick Russia's ass & avenge for Sweden & Netherlands. >( my dad was in Amsterdam last week, & he bought me a team oranje shirt! but i guess i won't get to wear it during their matches now. :( i'm all for Turkey making it to the finals though! the way they score last-minute goals is so awesome & enough to induce hart attaks in anyone. :D their match against Czech Republic? BRILLIANT. and against Croatia, dreadfully boring until the added time of extra time. that's virtually the last possible minute to score, & they did! then penalties baby! :D poor Croatians (Croats?) never knew what hit them. *pats them* but anyway, "do a turkey" has become an official phrase. :D i guess no amount of travel buses can contain their passion! XD *gobbles*
of course, what is futbol without hot players & manpiles?! >)

ahmagad, i have SUCH a crush on him. *___* he is the HOT. if you don't believe me, the banners on this post will prove you wrong. i don't even care that he can't carry a tune to save his life. it's pretty endearing actually. ♥ (yes, i am fangirly beyond hope at this point.)

not strictly a hottie, but he looks pretty good here. i just wanted to include him cos he's definitely a Dutch hero. :)

definitely NOT a hottie. in fact, i think he's pretty strong evidence that humans evolved from apes. XD but still, i wish he were still playing for Germany! brings back fond memories (of when i pretended to be him for our french project, for example). ;)
