Happy Monday! I hope waking up this morning and then trudging through the rain wasn't too bracing.

This Saturday I decided to end my self-imposed month of weekend idleness with a trip into Delaware to visit Lisa, a friend of mine from college (and one of the few that didn't have red hair). We ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse (got my usual plus a very fun drink) and then I proceeded to try and dissuade Lisa from making the kind of eye contact with a couple of guys that would incite some sort of meeting. Seriously, I don't think I've ever been out with someone that fearless. She just openly stared. Though she made it pretty clear how to turn looks of mutual appreciation into an open invitation.

After our brush with the opposite sex, we met up with her very cute and wonderful boyfriend, Jea, and then drove down to this little one room, mullet-filled bar in the middle of Bower's beach. Jea (who is half black) was a bit concerned about being hung, but as it turns out, everyone was very nice. Lisa's friends from high school (plus some of their crazy family members) showed up, and, of course, we all got pretty damn drunk (except for Jea, our DD). I think my favorite part of the night was when one particular local tried to convince me that the outside rain was actually a wet t-shirt contest. Well, that, and the picture of a Nazi on the bathroom door. I think it was a joke.

Yesterday was spent taking my little brother to a birthday party. Fortunately, it was indoors, air conditioned, and full of enough shiny fun toys to keep all the little kids busy.

As a side note, just to clear up any questions, I thought I would give a heads-up about what the hell I'm doing for the next two weeks. I'm leaving right after work on Friday and driving down to visit Laura and James (yay!) for a few days. I'll be leaving their place on Monday and should be in Annapolis around 8 or 9 that night (Chris, let me know about picking you up en route). I'll probably be staying until Wednesday, driving back up to Jersey, and then leaving for California Saturday, Jule 9th. This schedule explains why I've been so lazy the past few weekends. But yeah, fingers crossed I'll get to see everyone before I leave again for a few months. :-)

Edit: And I got my Ebay choker in the mail! It's actually even prettier in person and I promise to wear it for all of you to admire. Especially you, Ash.

Plus, I am going to set up a meeting with my grandmother's friend, the art history professor. Apparently, she loved the idea of the Christie's internship, no doubt making it valid in my grandparent's eyes and giving e a few months breathing space. Yay!
