With the disclaimer that I do not read the official discussion posts, because I habitually read LJ the morning after, and sifting through 400 comments without the context of the show playing out in front of me, I've found, is a bit confusing:
In reading the other opinion posts and comment threads, I didn't notice anyone mentioning the flowers strewn all over the stage. For me, I was unable to enjoy the routine for the simple matter that I was too tense waiting for someone to slip and fall when a foot landed on a flower.
Nevermind whether it was technically brilliant or expressively brilliant, whether it required a verbal introduction to connect with the intent of the piece or not, whether it required a personal connection of loss to appreciate, there were flowers all over the freaking stage.
Am I the only one that was nervous about this?
