Sway me, please. =) tastethekiss February 10 2007, 17:31:36 UTC
Okay, I'm going to tell you right away that you are going to get some pretty rude replies to this because of some of your views. You seem to be a very conservative person, and that might not go over so well here. But I think most of us stray away from the "you're allowed to have an opinion as long as it's what I agree with" mindset. Don't think that this is a bad community-- but sometimes you catch us on a bad day and for the most part, we're pretty liberal ( ... )

I can not believe you do not like Perks! I loved it. I just loved how he wrote to someone the entire time and the way he described things. I read it in two days, it just captivated me.

I am not conservative at all! When I register I will register Democratic. Yes I believe abortion is murder, but, I do not believe America has the right to tell you that. I believe in complete seperation of chruch and state.

I think gay marrige is not what god intended marrige, but I also think that if we are going to take prayer out of schools, then the united states can't tell two men or two women that. I don't 'hate gays' as most christians might come off as, my aunt and bestfriend are gay and they are my favorite people in florida <3.

Yea, I see where you are comming from with the censorship thing, I guess its just where we see things from.

I am a really active member and this is why I think I should be accepted, because I didnt force my opinions down your throat and I tottaly respect yours!!!

If you wrote that you liked the Perks because of the chocolate shake or the "infinite" quote or gay sex, I would have given you a no. But I liked your answer. I thought The Perks of Being a Wallflower was filled with way too much angst for such a small book-- I felt tortured going through it. It seemed like it wouldn't end and it took me quite a while to get the enthusiasm to finish it ( ... )

I think I can answer both topics this way, It may be strongly debated what are country was based on, but I believe it was based on the God I serve, not another religions god. I believe that if our nation were still to be based on that God that the nation would have the right to tell people if they could get married to someone the same sex as them or if a woman could have an abortion, but since the nation then later established a seperation, that it should keep those values. If the nation believes now in seperation of church and state then I believe abortion should only be ilegal because people feel morally inclined not religously. Does that make sense?

Also I think our news sources focous on only bad issues and not the good, because I know people do good things.

Even though I might not agree with some of your favorites, that is exactly wht they are....YOUR favorites. Everyone likes something that someone else might not like. So, I don't judge on them. But, I do love Hugh Laurie!

Your opinions shocked me, coming from a 16 year old. I don't agree with a lot of them, but I do appreciate what you said under the religion opinion:

but I don’t want to insult anyone by saying “the only God” or “our God” because I do not know your religious stand point

Some of your opinions had a little too much information, especially in regards to family/friends, but you draw from what you know. Besides all that, I don't really have a problem with you. Be prepared for some flak from other members, however.

BTW, why do you have to have an upper Endoscopy?

Because of your icon I am shocked with your yes =] Although I do find your icon funny =]

Yes hugh Laurie is amazing!

Do you mean that as a sixteen year old you were shocked because I had an opinion of my own? Or what they were exactly?

Yes I understand I put to much, but those reasons are why I have my opinion.

I hope I do not get flak from other members, because I am tottaly respectful of their thoughts and I didn't shove my in their faces, thats why I think I would be great in a personality community =]

Oh and because I took blood test and it said sometihng in my body is inflimated and they have to find out what it is.

thanks again =]

I don't judge anyone's religion, I get enough flak for my own. Especially from my fiancee, who is a born again Christian. Everyone has the right to worship whatever they want to worship, whether it's God, Buddha, Yahweh, Diana or Joe Pesci. It's all the same to me, just don't shove it in my face.

What surprises most about my icon is that it is all true. Leviticus actually does say that all of those things, among others, are abominations unto God. What amazes me is how many will quote the homosexuality one while ignoring the rest.

Your opinions shocked me because most of them were very well thought out and phrased. From some of the applications I've seen here, people who are older than you don't do as well.

I hope your appointment goes well, and I hope to see you in the community! :)

so because I had an abortion you think I should be on trial with a jury for murder and possibly getting life in prison or death sentence?

and not because of your opinions.. to each their own

but I got a negative vibe from you. No

I think that even though your opinions weren't all the same as mine, I feel like you explained each of your opinions well.

Your favourites weren't fabulous but they weren't horrible either, they didn't have a huge say in my decision.

You sound really 'fresh' (I don't know if that's the correct word) and sweet - Yes!

well, you seem to be an interesting lady...

First, I would just like to warn you, in order to prevent any possible flame wars here, that this community tends to lean towards the liberal side *I'm not saying this to deter you, just letting you know :)*

You seem to have a good head on shoulders; better than a lot 16 year old girls, I would say...I have just a few things.

-While you gave nice answers (we get a lot of answers that leave much to be desired), you didn't seem to give a definite answer on gay rights. I am religious myself, yet liberal-minded (an oxymoron: a liberal Catholic...go figure). Could you please offer a more decisive opinion on the gay rights? Or if you don't have one yet, that's also an answer :)

-And another opinion topic...How do you feel about evangelism? Not the "I'm just sharing my faith with others"...but the more aggressive pushing of one's beliefs on another and televangelism.

I think religously God did not make marrige for the same sex but I think church and state should be seperated, meaning that America does not have the right to tell them no.

I think that people should not shove their religion in others faces. I think that religion and poilitics are person choices that you should respect others for as long as they respect yours. I tihnk that as long as you gave the religion you follow though and actually know what your doing, that you are worthy of my respect. I do not like when people shove their religion in my face, so I do not do it on to others.
