there are things you play that are good listening.
there are things you play that are boring. ladadi ladada.
there are things you play that are boring to play but nice listening.
there are things you play that are rad rad rad to play but not so alluring when it comes down to just listening.
like bach, bach is like playing a 400 metre hurdle and fucking winning.
but it's terribly correct and boring to sit and listen to.

so. so it's a fine line when i write something.
Because i write like a jigsaw puzzle. i'll have edge pieces and middle pieces and sky pieces and mountain pieces and pieces that seriously look like they got cut on a different floor.
and then the 400 metre hurdle with rhythm. and when i fucking win, i start to see where my sky pieces stick.
and boom boom boom, my favorite part, and it flies. i'm happy, you're happy. let's eat.

but like when you say 'spaghetti' a zagillion times, it just doesnt sound the same anymore. you know its spaghetti, and its a great word, but you dont recognize it.

THUS! i can't tell if what i'm writing is good because
A. sometimes things are just fun to play because it makes you stronger and better and
B. because it takes so long to build, I can't recognize what drew me to the chords and patterns in the first place.

i'd have to wait months without ever hearing the certain piece again to know if im satisfied or not with it. Or else i'm solely relying on good intentions and second opinions.

and you know. fuck dat. plus, fucking plus, when you're on a roll, you're on a roll. so try and stop yourself from writing something similar to the last. i can. i swear i can do it. but when it comes down to it, i bet i can link all of my instrumental piano pieces together (hell maybe most of the ones with vox) with a flick a da wrist. couple a chords, slow it down, speed it up, sooky sooky, everybody.

i could probably make my entire repertoire thus far, into one big piece.

hell

maybe i should.

a testament to both the progressive and the recessive. badaboom chhh.
