It seems like it has been a billion years since my trip to the States, but alas it has only been a month and a half! The days go by so fast here...it seems like I am constantly running in an endless marathon. That can explain why I feel dehydrated most of the time.
So, on my trip back to Vancouver/Seattle I forgot my evil birth control pills. I ended up missing a a few days which completely screwed up my cycle and mood. That said, I have been quite cranky/emotional in the last month, which is unusual for me. But, I can happily say that once again I am back on track and fully satisfied!
Hmm...let's start with the boy department. So, being a foreigner in the land of Asian beauties and shy guys, it is not always easy to find a boy, but I feel like I have been quite lucky in the love department. Yes, it's true that I don't have a boyfriend right now (thank-God), but I have had many mini relationships with several amazing people! I have shared six months of my Taiwan experience with a very sweet Swedish engineer. I won't go into the details of why we broke up...let's just say the Swedish love their alcohol...haha. I met a cool Dutch boy in Thailand, who came to visit me in Taipei, and a simple down to earth Israeli who I still keep in touch with. I connected with an eccentric dread-lock hottie from Toronto who now lives in Bangkok, and a very successful Czech/English fella who was only visiting for a week. Recently, I met a somewhat mysterious Czech student, and a Canadian hockey player. There will be updates on those two later on in the week.
But, all that aside I recently got myself into a bit of a mess. Right after my big relationship with the Swede, I met a very interesting Kiwi...my dating scene has been quite international here! We got along fine, but I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted something very casual and mellow. But here is the question...what happens when your rebound wants to be more?
I do feel a bit guilty in this case, because I was quite friendly towards him, but I can't really help that. I thought he understood what I wanted...a light relationship with no attachments or expectations! I either need someone who will keep up with me in my race in Taiwan or someone who will hold out a cup of water from the sidelines, and offer me a quick and no strings attached break. I don't need someone asking me to go on a detour. Bottom line, the last thing I want right now is a full-time boyfriend! So, my decision was an easy one, but it wasn't so easy for him. He contacted me over 8 times in the first two days, and he randomly showed up at house the other day, two weeks after we had broken up. Well, you have to give the guy credit for being persistent. I just hope that he finds someone who is serious about a relationship. He was a great guy...just not for me!
So, speaking of the ex...I have started talking to the first one again, after a very long time, and some of the old feelings have definitely reemerged. I don't plan on doing anything about it now, so we will just have to wait and see what destiny has in store! There have definitely been signs, and I am a big fan of those!
Alright, enough of that department! In other news, our Christmas play/song is splendid. I am so proud of my kids...I loves them all so much!! I have negotiated a raise for next semester, where I plan to save millions of dollars, and finally pay off the dreaded student loan, and my upcoming India trip!! Yes, I am going to India in a month and one week! Although I will be meeting up with friends and acquaintances along the way, I will be on my own for most of the journey which will be interesting! I was going back and forth between India and the Philippines for a long time, because I eventually want to become certified in diving, but I have decided that swimming with the fish will just have to wait. India is calling!
This weekend was fabulous! I went to Ryan's Christams performance and took lots of pics for him! I even have a video of him and his spicy Asian co-worker shaking their asses! Ryan is my amazing, super helpful, kind, generous gay friend...I would not have survived Taiwan if it wasn't for him. After some needed down time, we all met up at Ryan's house for drinks before heading over to Funky...a sketchy Taiwanese gay bar, with a huge dance floor! Eva and I were shocked when we got hit on by some gay boys! Were they bi or just curious? Haha. Heidi put on a great show. I never knew she was a randy bar star!
Liba's man arrived on Sat, and we went up to Muza mountain with their friends for an official tea drinking party. Oooh, it was very special! I was feeling a bit down on Sat night...missing my old roommies and our party days back in the beginning of my Taiwan trip! They finally had an outdoor rave/party at C.K.C...I only caught the last bit of the show, but it was awesome. Hearing live techno music always makes me feel better! After, I rushed over to The Spot, where I joined up with wonderful Claire, and two of our other awesome gay boys for Paris je t'aime...oh what a lovely movie! The stories were all so endearing and it made me miss Paris so much! Then, Claire and I came back to my place and had a very sweet girly chat! We then suddenly decided to go out dancing...it was a fun night...I met a Canadian boy and caught up with an old girlfriend that I hadn't seen in a while...ok the rest will be for next time because my roommate has a movie and Sababa's eggplant pita waiting for me!!! Yay!!
Update: My best friend Katherine might be coming here for Chinese New Year, which would be fantastic!!! My India trip would be postponed, but I don't care...it would be so awesome to see her and maybe travel to one of the close beaches in Thailand or the Philippines!!
