I thought this was pretty cool, but it's not such a big thing. I took Ichiikun to Borders with me today, and there was this guy who passed me a couple times while I was trying to decide which manga to buy. (Card Captor Sakura vs. a possible yaoi-manga ... but how to make sure Mom doesn't see the 18+ warning?)* Anyway, on the way out, he came up to me and asked where I'd gotten this doll. I told him I got him from dreamofdoll.com, had [he] ever heard of them? and he says, no, but he looks a lot like a Volks doll, and I was like nah, same type of thing, though! and inside I was like omg! someone who recognizes Ichii as a BJD! It was very interesting. I told him about Den of Angels, so maybe he'll join?
I'm hoping I run into him again, perhaps at Bakuretsucon, 'cause it's not often that a: I meet someone in real life who knows what Ichii is, and b: talk to a guy about dolls without him looking down on them.
