Awhile ago, Mousey had this idea that we get "twin" dolls; not the same mold, but two dolls from the same "story." This proved to be rather difficult, seeing as we have noticably different tates, and the character issue.
Y'see, for me, as much as I might love the look of a certain doll, I don't feel the need to bring him or her (or it, in Byakuren's case) home unless they start "talking" to me. Byakuren, for example, pretty much jumped out of the picture and told me his* name, rank and serial number. I loved the face aestetically, but also there was a "spark" in it - a spark of a character. Ichiiro did the same thing - I already had a name picked out, but no character to go with it. With time, I started to see a "story" come up around him - he was a blonde haired prince from a far-away land. Calvin explained that he was a shy sort, who doesn't like people getting too close to him.
So, when Mousey suggested that we get dolls from the same "story," I was at a loss - all of them already established their character and their storyline.
I'll often like a doll (*cough*Hound*cough*) a whole lot, but not see that "spark" of personality in them.
Generally, though, the favorites I have when it comes to a possible 'nother doll are the ones that, as I say, just sort of walk off the page, saying, "hi, I'm so-and-so! Nice to meet you!"

*yeah, I know Byakuren is a Tenshi doll, and thus has no gender; it's not my fault English lacks gender neutral pronouns for humanoids

babble, possibilites, interesting
