sicked in

Monday J stayed home sick. She woke up with a fever and didn't want to get out of bed. She stayed in bed till 10:30 then got up and seemed fine, apart from some sniffing and coughing.

On Tuesday she was supposed to go on a field trip to a museum with school and I would be one of the parents to accompany them. On Monday I already emailed the teacher I might not be able to help, because J was ill.

On Tuesday morning J seemed ok (still snotty and coughing), but she really wanted to go on the field trip so we went to school and I helped out with the trip. When we got back at school, J would still have 1,5 hours of school left, but she really wanted to go home, so I took her home.

This morning I woke her up, but she really wanted to sleep. But hey, if you can go to school when there is a field trip you can also go to school on a normal day, even though you are still snotty and coughing. When I picked her up today she said she was tired. We got home and she crashed on the couch, drank a bit of water, but didn't even want to eat anything. We read some books and then she discovered the new bucket of Play-mais (http://www.playmais.com/index.php?l=en#) I bought her so we played with that. After an hour she went back to the couch and fell asleep immediately. I tried to wake her up for dinner, but she really wanted to stay sleeping and by that time she also felt hot with fever again. So she went to bed and fell asleep again.

So I guess she is staying home tomorrow again (so much for my exercising program this week).

Speaking of the field trip. I volunteered to help because I think it's a good thing to be involved with J's school more. When the day drew near I didn't really feel like going anymore, basically because I thought it was kind of scary (driving other people's children around, have all these kids on the train, and so on). So not going because J was sick was quite convenient for me. But then she did want to go, so I had to as well.

And guess what... it actually was kind of fun. It was very tiring, but fun and J loved to have me around. So yeah, I guess the lesson here is that you shouldn't let your fears and doubts hold you back.

Watched the movie "locked in" (yes, only because of Ben Barnes). IMDB description: "Josh leaves his advertising career at its peak, everyone wants either to be him or to have him. A car accident will leave his daughter in a strange coma and when everyone has given up she starts communicating with him, or is he going mad?" Rating: 5.8

It's a bit of a weird movie. A lot of flashbacks and you don't always get it is a flashback. And I didn't get the ending at all. So not really a must watch, unless you like Ben Barnes, because he is quite the view in this movie (beard and long hair).

j, movie, me
