Fresh Blood...

Surprisingly enough, the celebration I had with my family didn't end as I feared it would. Instead, we enjoyed the time spent with my grandfather, with a small change. We headed to the cemetary first-my aunt, one of my cousins, my grandfather, my mother and I-and stayed there for around 30 minutes before going to Hometown Buffet, where it was "All-U-Can-Eat!" Yay me.

Anyway, I had four slices of pizza-first two, pepperoni, the last two, cheese-plus two helpings of orange chicken. (With some root beer and jello for dessert). While there, I ran into three friends I went to high school with-one graduated two years ahead of me; the other two graduated the same year as me. I also got to see more than a few babies, one being my second cousin, who's over a year old, plus two who have my friends as parents; I got their number so I can keep in touch, even if they live out of town.

Got to watch the season premiere of Teen Titans, and wasn't thrilled with Doom Patrol leader Mento, who kept treating Beast Boy like he was a nuisance who makes the wrong choice. Personally, I think he made the right choice, both times. Watching Justice League Unlimited was astounding this week-Supergirl's costume was updated to look like her current one in the Supergirl book! (cheers) Was intrigued by the rivalry between her and Stargirl that blossomed-so to speak-into respect for the other near the end, especially when Kara had to face Metallo and had Stargirl around to help out. (I thought their little "discussion" on who had the harder life as a teenager was quite amusing, though I think Kara had Courtney beat-stuck on a farm for three years in Kansas. Reminds me of Superboy...) The second episode was just as good-Wonder Woman was able to fight through the poison in her system long enough to save the Viking Prince-who's name I can't recall-and give him a decent burial.

I went by Heroes a bit earlier and was sorely disappointed when I noticed they ran out of both JSA: Classified, plus Supergirl. (As predicted, Robin #142 was still there. Gag.) On the plus side, I was able to pick up the collected book of Robin/Batgirl: Fresh Blood, even if I have it in its four separate parts. The artwork was still amazing, just as I remember it from last November and December.

The quote for this afternoon comes from my collected book.

"...It's the long shot that breaks the bank." -Robin, Robin/Batgirl: Fresh Blood
