The sweltering afternoon rendered Mylady needful of butler Edgar's scratcher. Edgar's thirst, thus whetted, was quenched by chamber maid Dolores. To her release, gardener Pietro raked her field thoroughly. Unfairly, Pietro had to promenade glistening pectorals for hours until Mylady paid lip service to his desires--leaving Mylady all needy again.

In a fascinating double-bill of sorts, we watched Werner Herzog's movie Kaspar Hauser last night. I had bought the DVD back in 2005 while at an ILP conference in Germany, and we just never got around to watching it before then. I cannot believe that the Jon Stewart crew, usually quite good in their research, used a segment from the Tapestry of Bayeux, which depicts the Norman invasion of Anglo-Saxon England, as a basis for a fake depiction of a "Plumber's Crusade" (occasioned by the shocking news that Joe the Plumber is now a war correspondent in the Gaza strip ( Read more... )

The article is so-so, but the image is awesome.

I just came back from the movies, taking my four-year old daughter and the slightly older neighbor's daughter to see Dr Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!. It's an excellent movie, and the animation is exceedingly fun to watch. I can highly recommend it, and the young ladies enjoyed it very much.

I am still trying to make hay with the idea that starting out with different pictoral traditions, and then round-robin trying to acquire other pictoral traditions is a good way to handle the encoding bias that comes with the fact that our visual system appears to be doing sub-conscious preprocessing during image recognition.
