What would you get if you took a journal writing competition added the twists and turns of reality television and put it on a rollercoaster with iffy brakes? You'd get ljidol: "A microcosm of everything Livejournal".
You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll buy the t-shirt, make some friends and hopefully learn something about yourself from the experience. Above all though you will write, read some incredible writing, and meet some pretty cool people from the process - and after all isn't that what LJ is about?
I have a couple of friends who have participated in this in the past and I guess now the present too, and I'm intrigued enough to give it a try. I'm a total noob and have no idea how it plays out exactly, but if you're reading this and it sounds remotely interesting to you, come keep me company! :) You people like to write! Bring it!
