I planted seeds today, with my ten year old.
nasturtiums, hollyhocks, lupines and morning glories.
The sight of dandelions in full bloom in the spring lifts my heart. I love seeing the yellow carpet of my lawn. Creeping Charlie is one of my favorite plants. I think it is lovely and small with scalloped pure green leaves and delicate purple flowers. And the violets are welcome where ever they pop up. I don't pull them out from between the bricks of my patio. The sight of large heart shaped leaves mounding among the stones is beautiful.
About the only plant I really don't like is grass. It gets into everything and is so hard to eradicate. And I really have never managed to grow tomatoes. Even my zucchini died!
This seems so backwards for a girl raised in Midwest suburbia.
