Help with Weird PC!
Situation: We have an old desktop that ran on Windows ME but it was bogged down with viruses, so my mom bought a new desktop. I asked Gary to reformat the hard drive of that old desktop, and he did. After that, I tried booting with the Recovery CD but it wouldn't work. Error messages kept coming up that Windows 98 couldnt start. That in itself was weird because the hard drive wasnt supposed to have anything in it. Anyway, I ordered an Ubuntu CD around 3 weeks ago. and it arrived today. I tried it out but it wouldnt work since my memory was insufficient. I decided to try the Recovery CD again but to no avail. Thoroughly pissed now, I turned off the Pc then turned it on again - and voila, Windows ME started up. I was like, O_O!!! I thought the hard disk was reformatted (meaning NOTHING should be stored there). And now Windows ME starts up?
