Chuck Palahniuk

I just couldn't resist. Despite being cash-strapped, yesterday I went to Powerbooks Megamall and bought Chuck Palaniuk's "Haunted".

It was well worth every centavo paid.

I must admit, if it wasn't for the catchy cover art, I wouldn't even have been aware of a writer named Chuck Palaniuk. Sure, the film "Fight Club" was based on his novel of the same title, but I've never seen "Fight Club" and I don't have any plans to. Palaniuk is like Neil Gaiman minus the fantasy. His writing is magnificently lucid and his ideas are free-flowing. Every word used is economical - sensible and necessary. So far as I've read, there are hardly are there any ostentatious words. I thoroughly am enjoying the book.
