the october issue (the first one i worked on) finally showed up at the office, just in time for me to actually have enough freetime to stop by and pick up a couple of em (for my mom, dad and sis.) i looked through it today while i was waiting for class to start, and i like the way the first shoot turned out ("wallflower" pg.106-117) but the second one isn't really too impressive ("dark city" pgs. 124-133.) i'm disappointed for two reasons: 1. the dark city shoot was amazing in person. i'm not sure why it didn't translate into the photos, although i've formed my own opinion which i'm going to be nice and not share. 2. they credited me as just "allison" on the wallflower shoot, which isn't the end of the world... but "allison davis" would have been better.
anyway. the disappointments didn't overshadow any of the positives, so that's good. i had a lot of fun working on the two shoots, and i'm going to start working with my boss on the december issue which should be good. also, justin's roommate wrote the story on the last page (his bio and photo can be found on the contributors page...) anyway. getting any credits at all is pretty great. also, i got a pretty interesting/good offer from someone associated with the magazine. it's nothing money, or anything like that... but i'm excited. should be pretty cool if it works out.
