so fashion week is over. and i'm kinda glad. as great as it is to be able to see the future of fashion (which looks a lot like the past) i'm tired of standing around waiting, grown women pushing for seats (even though they're assigned), and rude p.r. people.
some highlights included:
. animal collective playing live for alexandre herchcovitch
. jill stuart's crocheted swimsuits and puffy sleeved jackets
. peter som's linen dresses
. gwen stefani's entire l.a.m.b. collection
. being seated two feet away from heather graham at vivienne tam (ok. not really a highlight, but kinda cool)
. seeing paris, kelly osbourne, gavin rossdale (who was seated next to anna wintour), lenny kravitz, bijou phillips, etc at l.a.m.b. (it's true, i'm a tourist.) and then literally brushing elbows with lenny kravitz backstage.

ok. so even though i just went to the spring 06 shows, i give to you:
1. anything black and white. specifically with a mod or sixties influence. christian dior aw05 sweater.
2. anything victorian inspired. moschino aw05.
3. wide leg pants. kenzo aw05.
4. high heeled, pointy toed ankle boots. not the electroclash version though. (i couldn't find exactly what i had in mind, so here's two that sort of get the idea across.) etro aw05 (purple). peter som aw05 (brown).
5. anything 60s inspired. proenza schouler aw05.
6. coats/trench coats with fuller skirts. stella mccartney aw05.
7. tops, blouses, or dresses with a high neck made of lace. preferably in dark colors. jean paul gaultier aw05.
8. crosses. cynthia gale aw05.
9. velvet. chaiken aw05.
10. over the knee socks with pumps. l.a.m.b. ss06.
i know the whole boho look is going to carry over into fall as the "russian" look, which is basically boho but in heavier fabrics and with a lot of fur. as far as i'm concerned, the whole boho thing can kiss my ass.
