Your coin stacks are so tidy of_home July 7 2007, 18:32:12 UTC
Daniel, I am totally feeling the winter clothes issue-A Chicago winter will probably mean sudden death for me as well. I gained like five pounds this summer though, so maybe that will improve my chances of survival. Your coin collection is amazing, I remember gathering up about $120 dollars in change before I went to SVA last summer. Also, Shir called me yesterday! I am sorry to hear that your summer has been a disappointment, however I think its nothing a year at Parsons won't cure. If you ever go to Chicago to see your friend you should call me up.

My family made fun of me because I stayed up from 12:00am till 4:00am counting and stacking all the change. I wanted to know the exact amount myself since I'd been saving it for the last couple of years. I was proud at least, haha. I don't think people realize how quickly change adds up! We're definitely in the know.

How's Shir doing?! Last time I talked to him was New Years Eve when he randomly called me and I almost didn't answer the phone because I didn't recognize the number.

I was thinking of a Chicago trip in December/January over winter break, but I realized it's probably even colder in Chicago than it will be in New York, so I changed my plan to March during my spring break (March 17-21 I think). There's finally going to be a reunion!

Oh, and I should mention:

Daniel Johnston, according to pitchfork media, is playing NY the first day of classes for me. Such a nice surprise!

my grandma always used to collect coins and would say if you put all your change in a jar and saved it one day you could be a millionaire, needless to say my dad keeps his coins in a jar and when it is full we exchange it and then have a few hundred bucks to go buy something nice

i'm at cca right now and trust me it is no sva
also i'm in color photo which is amazing i have my own darkroom
(no chemicals because the color process is a dry to dry one meaning you use a processor machine)

my class has 9 people in it including me and there is no you or kristina in the bunch and definately no frank hahahhahaha

winter clothes suck for us warm weather folks basically you need one or 2 amazing coats that you wont get tired of and that are classic pieces

9 seems so small, but then I remembered our class was small too. And who knows, Frank as under the radar for the first week so you may have someone creepin' up on you haha.

What's the area like?

Because otherwise I'd be sitting on the computer even more than I already do

but trust me, that money (now that it has materialized into actual bills) is gonna disappear in seconds.

I dunno how the weather goes in NY, but I heard that in Chicago, winters don't get really bad until after Thanksgiving break. And for then, someone advised I buy a military parka.

i feel your pain on the college debt stuff
i'm in the exact same boat
why does college have to cost so much?
anyway, about the winter clothes
you should layer a lot, sweaters, scarves, gloves, a nice winter coat
american apparel has some nice basic stuff, h&m probably has some good stuff too
as long as you layer and have a good coat, you should be fine

The concept of a loan bothers me; I'm poor (by college tuition standards) so I need money but I'll have to pay back twice as much with interest so really it just makes things slightly more difficult. I mean, yeah it's a business, they need to make money, but blah. I guess more motivation not to fuck around?

I'm going to raid H&M when I get into the city for anything winter, haha.
