...was fucking amazin today. There were virtually *no* tables whatsoever (went for a whole hour between 5 and 6 without a single customer in the restaurant), so we got to just doss about. And eat, cos there was nothing better to do. I ate so much I felt sick. I ate so much I forgot about my hayfever. I discovered red pepper pesto goes particularly ( Read more... )

I can't believe someone said that about their flatmate! Sometimes I think I live in this little bubble where homophobia is a distant thing that doesn't really exist in younger generations, and apart from using "gay" as an insult, people don't really care. Guess I was wrong. That sucks though, when there's so much you would love to say, but have to hold back because you're not out.

Neither of my parents know, because although I'm really close to them esp my mum, they're homophobic (bloody Catholicism!). I came out to my friends when I was 14 (that's when I started questioning my sexuality) but was pretty vague about it then. They all know by now that I'm bi though. It's not the sort of thing we discuss very often, but they're very accepting of my girlfriend and such.

Sometimes I think I live in this little bubble where homophobia is a distant thing that doesn't really exist in younger generations, and apart from using "gay" as an insult, people don't really careI used to think exactly the same. A girl at my last job, and a girl at my current job (who is prejudiced about pretty much everything you can think of) both pull those "icky" faces when gay people are mentioned. You would think that these days such people (they're both in their early twenties)wouldn't exist. My mates are totally cool, and always have been so to come across this was very odd indeed. However, it is worth noting that both girls are totally fine with the gay guy at work. I think it's just a gay/bi women thing. Perhaps it makes them feel threatened or something...? That's pretty arrogant if you ask me. I mean, my colleague is the most horrible peron I've ever met. Completely devoid of a sense of humour - she's one of those people who would "grass you up" if you did something wrong, y'know? I would never ever fancy her in a ( ... )

Yeah I hate it when girls look at lesbians and think "ewww she might fancy me!". It's soooo self absorbed. Plus, would they be the same way with a straight guy? I don't think so.

I will tell my parents eventually, whether I settle down with a man or a woman. With a woman, I'll have to tell them obviously, and with a man then I reckon I'll tell them anyway. Definitely my mum anyway, though she'd probably tell my dad. At the moment I'm just working on making them less homophobic. I think they kinda suspect me already, dad caught me ordering the L word off eBay once and asked me if I was "planning on being gay". Plus, I frequently rant on about gay rights, sooo....
