Yesterday My Love and I went to connecticut to visit with, in my opinion, the perfect horse.
for the last few weeks Kari and I have been a little stressed out, but yesterday made a hugemongous impact on both of us.
Starbucks, or just 'Buck' as his current owner calls him, is a 15.3 hand buckskin, 1/2 quarter horse half something else(can't remember off the top of my head)...well I guess that would make him an 1/8 horse half....oh whatever. Anyway we got to the place(a beautiful house with 15 acres a bunch of paddocks and fences and forest with a wonderful easterly view) at around 3:00pm expecting to be shown the horse, she'd get to ride around for a little while, and we'd be on our way by 5, 5:30 at the latest. Well, we were wrong.
We did start with her tacking up and riding for a good long while. I haven't seen her more relaxed then she was on Starbuck in many months. She took him over a few jumps and down a short trail around the property, and she is really happy with him. After she rode we sat and talked with the couple that currently own Starbucks. It was nice and casual, we just chatted for a while and lost track of time a little. finally, after Kari groomed and fed Bucks, we left, it was 7:30.
Kari and her Mother will be returning to purchase the Buckster this weekend. I am very happy that she has finally found another horse to call her own.
