X PINpointed directly back to MHHQ very shortly after his talk with Harpuia. He arrived on the snow-dusted roof of the complex, not far from one of the access stairwells. For several long moments he just stood where he'd arrived, looking out at the snow-covered landscape beyond the roof retaining wall.
Although the day had started out well enough, X's mood had quickly gone sour after meeting Isoc in the park. The old reploid had claimed to house Wily's memories. And not only had the old bastard, almost causally, taken credit for the Eurasia Space Colony crash, but he'd claimed responsibility for the Zero Nightmare, claiming it was all a test to see if Zero would go mad. It had taken an immense amount of willpower not to deck him.
X's mood had only gotten worse upon learning more about his potential future from his alternate's copy. While Xiao had been a huge improvement over the first Copy X he'd run into, that didn't change X's opinion of the idea of copying him to get a replacement. Learning more about the situation from Xiao, X had liked it even less.
And now? Now X was struggling to keep his anger under control, knowing there was nothing he could do to change or fix things. Not yet. It was so frustrating.
Despite his efforts to calm down, after a while he grew restless. It wasn't long before he'd left the wind-swept roof behind and headed inside. He needed to relax, and he didn't want to do it in public. Someone else might find him and irritate him just enough that he wouldn't be able to stay calm.
