Mega:Secret Headquarters:Java

Mega was veritably glued to his monitor and computer as he worked on his big project. The meeting with Macon and Dan had left him agitated, irritated, and uninterested in anything minutely unimportant. Some tried to interrupt him and they merely got ignored or snapped at, and now the room was quiet, save for the hum of the machines and a few of his more loyal men typing away and doing their daily routines.

He was well aware of the fact that nine of his men and two of his women had left the building without prior approval, including that damn Doris woman. It only worked to irritate him more, and he kept a close watch on them with his various cameras. He was not amused when they entered a sector where the power cluster to the cameras had previously been destroyed, that meant they were doing something wrong and knew it. Who were they meeting? It would have made Mega nervous, if he was the kind of person who gave into his emotions. Of course, he could always torture it out of them, but if it was Ram who had broken into his servers earlier, and they were indeed meeting with Ram, it would prove to delay his ultimate goals further. It could be Jay, he pondered; if they were indeed ratting him out to the Mall Rats, they would all meet a painful, ugly, and sinister death via torture. Every last one of them, especially that Doris. His nose wrinkled slightly as he thought of her, painfully remembering her pet name for him; gods he hated her. She was far too annoying.

One thing Mega knew for sure was that a few of the people in that crew were loyalists, meaning they still found themselves waiting for Ram to rise back to power. A few of them were also rebels, meaning they had helped him to bring Ram down and were friends of Jay's. No, Mega was not pleased, and finding out what they were up to would take time, diligence, and discretion on his part.

The three boys he'd sent out on his big project earlier had yet to return, and he had yet to see them on the monitors, but that was the reason they were his best. He knew what they were, they were Technos, through and through, and they would go where the power was. They didn't so much care that Mega was running the place, they'd be there if a Virt was running it, as long as it was the center of power and a Techno base, but he had that, and he wasn't worried. For now.

His eyes narrowed, his walls were up, and he would have been seething with anger over the eleven renegade Technos, if he let his emotions control himself. There was no way he could keep the city in his grasp without them even suspecting him if he were to let his emotions control his actions. No, Mega knew this all too well. Seeing what Macon had done today, down at the Mall, knowing what his priorities really were was proof enough that an emotionless leader was the best kind.

Glancing at the clock on his computer, his mind briefly wondered where Java was, had she given up on life? Was she going to come in today or simply let herself die? His knee began to bob up and down as he thought about it. How many more things were to go wrong today? It was highly irritating. He reminded himself that at least Tai-San would not be up his nose today, there was a Mall Virt wedding and she couldn't get away. He actually relaxed when thinking about that, she wouldn't come in demanding a fix and giving him crap information on the Mall Rats, he was free of her for the day at least. His lips moved ever so slightly into a smile, though no one could really tell by just looking at him. Yes, that was making him feel a bit less tense, one good thing for the day.

If he didn't need the information on the Mall Rats as much as he did, he would just delete her, but he knew he could trust her to bring back the vital information. After all, if she didn't, he'd simply delete all of her loved ones, and he knew far too well how much she cared about them. She'd never let that happen. Mega leaned in a bit closer to his screen, hunched down, shoulders slumped, typing in a code to fix the backdoor entrances to their system that the hacker had gotten through while watching his monitors to see if his eleven renegade Technos would walk away with a twelfth
