I am now the happy (but tired) owner of a sweet, loving, bouncy, HAPPY pomeranian. Possibly named Nelson, but I haven't decided yet. (His name is Willie. Nelson would therefore be a play on Willie Nelson, as well as the admiral.) He's snoozing by the couch now, after a brief nap in my lap. I can't tell yet if he really doesn't know basic commands (although he seems REALLY eager to learn) or if he's just too hyper from being in new surroundings to listen. Ditto with his housebreaking, but he's only had one accident so far. (And Nature's Miracle is, indeed, a miracle.) He will chase a ball until he falls DOWN. He's a giant sweetheart. He's ten pounds and I think eight of that is heart.
He ignores the cat COMPLETELY. The cat growled for an hour and still isn't happy, of course, but he's settled more than I expected today. At one point the dog was beside me on the couch and the cat was within reach on the floor, so that's not bad at all for three hours after they met. The baby gate is working well. I think Sid will eventually tolerate him, at least.
Well, I'd better take the dog out and go turn the pet deposit in. I'll probably be around later!
dog,
