Yesterday, there were a ton (like 7 or so) open houses in that new "Historic Replica" neighborhood. The houses are SO CUTE from the outside, but so disappointing on the inside. I want to like them, I really do, but every time I actually go in one, I just feel let down. BK, ever the optomist, really likes it over there. So we went in every one that was open.
This one
http://www.realtracs.com/MediaDisplay.aspx?ListingID=961673 was decorated so cute. The pictures don't do it justice, but the owners (a young married couple, judging by the photos) had such amazing taste. Very minimalist and modern. Black and white photos framed everywhere, tastefully. Not a style I personally could live in (modern and sparse), but it sure is nice to look at. Other than that, didn't care for the place. Especially the blue counters (WTF). Actually I didn't really like any of them, and by the end of it, BK said "Ok, I am officially over this neighborhood!" Haha. But like I said on the outside they are SO CUTE and I love the colors, and they all have porches... it's just the insides leave much to be disired. Several of the layouts are awkward and downright strange, and yeah, we could add wood floors or moldings, but honestly, even that wouldn't help. They all look generic, like our old townhouse. Brandon said the neighborhood's slogan should be "If you like apartments, you'll love it here!" Made me laugh. But like I said, the outsides are just adorable. You feel happy just driving through the 'hood.
Here's a few more of the MLS's:

Still majorly loving the house on Pennsylvania. BK and I made a deal awhile back that if it's still not sold in February, he will seriously reconsider it. I think he is liking it more and more. The thing with him, is he expects to walk in a house and be wowed and fall instantly in love with it. The problem with that scenario is that he doesn't fall instantly in love with anything. Hell, it took him a year to love Jorge. He just doesn't fall fast for anything or anyone, period. So I sat him down sometime last week and told him that, and he agreed that he most likely wouldn't fall in love with any house just by walking into it. So he is trying to look with a more open mind now. Yay. He's also not sold on Lebanon, but Wilson County is by far the best choice for us. Cheaper property taxes, better schools, better housing prices. And it is growing and expanding fast, so there is a good chance property values will rise substantially there, even though they are supposed to kind of level off and be stable everywhere else. So, we'll see. I love it over there. He'd rather move to Mt. Juliet than Lebanon, but there are just not any neighborhoods there (aside from the new ones). It's like houses popped up here and there at random over the years. It's just very spread out. Will be interesting to see what we end up agreeing on! In the meantime, I just enjoy looking. As were were driving through Lebanon, Brandon said "One of these will probably be ours, but we don't even know which one... just think, we may have driven by it 20 times and still don't have a clue that it's the one!" So exciting to think about it like that. But I am hoping for Lebanon, near the college - slim pickings though. Only about 8 streets to choose from, maybe, and it's a pretty settled area. There may be a lot of waiting involved if the one on Pennsylvania sells. :(
