Every time I think my fandom is filled with asstards, I'm going to read this and this and think, y'know, it ain't that bad.

House: at least we're not Harry Potter.

I read the whole thing and just boggled at the BA/SB shipper wars still happening there. It's like watching Groundhog Day in the BtVS fandom - years passing and these folks are still retreading the same damn arguments.

Lol, I like Harry Potter, but after about 6 years of being a fan, I've only found about 15 authors I can stand. It's really not many when you consider how *huge* the fandom is.

I can't believe people can't get over the BA / SB wars. I'm an SB shipper, but does it mean that I hate BA? No. I mean bloody hell, who cares? You can enjoy the series without hating a faction of people who are celebrating a certain relationship.

Can't you? Lol.

I read the whole. damn. thing. I don't know which I'm more bewildered by - the amount of effort it took to create all those sockpuppets and set up her own melodrama or the sheer mediocrity of her ultimate goal - to be a BNF.

But, wow. Considering the sheer mass of HP fans out there, fifteen authors is what, one per million?

Heh. I do SB myself. (Oddly enough, I dig Spike but think James Marster's kind of ick; find Angel to be a tool but David Boreanaz hot. Consistent, I am not.)
I stepped far, far away from BtVS fandom when people started hating on Buffy in season six, though.

Shipper wars are funny when you're sitting outside of the fapping and merely pointing and laughing. But. My god. At least use different lines instead of cutting and pasting old crap. That hate meme felt like a timewarp.

To be honest I loved the darker turn in season 6, just as I have loved how deliciously corrupt House became in season 2 - doing things (like breaking into the filing cabinet to read his ex' files) - that made me sit with my mouth open thinking 'hell yeah ( ... )

I loved Cordelia! Angel was very good for her. By virtue of being the "adult" series, she was forced to grow up much more dramatically than the kids on BtVS. Her developmental arc (well, at least until she molested Connor)- to see her transform from the snotty cheerleader to reluctant hero, to actually being a hero - was simply amazing. Except for the Connor thing. And did I mention Connor? I liked the idea of Angel/Cordy, as well as Angel/Wes (in that desperate, idol-worship sort of way) and Angel/Spike (in that brutally-broken-in-when-he-was-first-turned way).

Do you watch (or download) Bones? It's awful. Awful. Terrible, really. But I can't stop watching because DB is so freaking adorable in it.

Buffy, S6 was when I first really leaped into fandom, followed by a quick scrambling back out, when the Buffy-bashing, Spike-apologista trend grew to wacky proportions. I mean, I adored both characters but they were both completely and utterly fucked up, and they did fucked up things - that was the point.

I loved S2 of Angel for the ( ... )

Yeah, that! Total and utter batshittery. This is why the HP fandom wins at wank, and that ain't a good thing.

IIRC the last time someone tried to set up a hatememe in House fandom, it degenerated into CAPSLOCK'D CRACK on the second page, complete with some of the worst manips you'll ever see (e.g., Sailor Moon House). Most amusing.

That Sailor Moon House was a THING OF BEAUTY. It's now my wallpaper and frightening everyone in the office. I also watched the house_anon spinoff before it got suspended as well.

HEEEE. I'd set it as my wallpaper, but I don't think I could stand the heart attack every time I had to look at my desktop.
