She Walks Across The Land Where The Ocean Meets The Sand...

...Like She's Walking On A Tight Rope In A Circus

So, I live in the Outer Banks now. I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand, it's beautiful, and close to Matt's family, but on the other hand, it's not my suburbia with malls and lots of famous food chains; there's no grassy parks or huge trees; and living down here doesn't give me the 'free ( Read more... )

#1 I MISS YOU
#2 There's this woman who just graduated from my school who you would probably love to talk to. She's in her 40's (probably, she won't tell us her age), married with two teenage kids, she's awesome, and she just finished an English major and music minor at St. Mary's. I don't know what she did before, but just got a job teaching at community college and plays with the local community orchestra. I guess my point is, you have time. If right now all you can do is live in the Outer Banks for two years with Matt and just get by, then do that, save money (if you can) and know that eventually you can go back to school if that's what you want to do.
I've been having minor 'future worries' too, because I don't know if I'm focusing enough on what I really want to do here. But I reassure myself by telling myself that I have time, and if the programs I want to go into don't want me right after I graduate, I can take more classes, try and get work in that area, and just wait it out. I kind of blew my own mind when I told someone who just turned 21 that 30 is still half of the years we've already lived away. Like, the amount of years it took to get you from 10 to 20. 10 is 4th grade. That's crazy. So anyway...I guess you just have to cajole your mind into slowing down with the whole impatience thing. But I do relate. But it definitely sounds like you need to take some time for you, and for you and Matt. Even a weekend off work to hang out at the beach together. What job did he get?
#3 What's your address, I'll send you a letter :)

#3 yeah, i was thinking about how i've been with matt for almost a quarter of my life (this sept.) made me think that 5 years is has seemed like forever, so another five, or ten, will be far away too...
