RIP Claire Littleton
went to feed the top cage girls today (my rats live in 4 cages, one on a high shelf) and didn't see Claire. This isn't unusual as you cannot see the bottom of three levels in that cage (at least not if you're as short as me). However when she didn't head uptairs for food, I craned my neck to see the cage floor, confirming what I had begun to dread. At some point between when I got up two days ago and left for work, and when I was getting ready for bed tonight, Claire died. I do not know when or what of other than to say she was second oldest next to the Mer (she was about 2 years old, I think. Maybe older?) The girls in her cage seem to be copeing ok. Sam and Fraser both avoided the body, but now that I've removed it, they seem fine. I think she probably died since i've been back from the hospital, but was too tired to check on them yesterday morning, so I cannot be sure as I only noticed when I fed them tonight (yes, I realize that yesterday was actually 2 days ago, and tonight was yesterday, but I haven't gone to bed yet so for me it is last night). This whole post makes no sence. I will have to edit it when I have had more sleep.
