Today was a fairly small practice. I only fenced three people, but they're all fun times.
My nemesis of late has been making sure my arm is fully extended when I land a hit. I end up either with it kind of bent, and therefore way too close, and therefore sometimes far too hard...or I think too hard and fail at fencing at all.
The other thing I've been working on is trying to slowly figure out how to control other people's blades. This has been very slow going. I grasp the concept of it, but I have yet to really be able to put it into practice. Every once in awhile in a moment of zen I accidentally do it right, which is not terribly helpful. But it is mildly encouraging.
I'm certainly miles better than I was six months ago. You can tell because
nomadmwe now picks on me about very specific things instead of just giving me general looks. ....Most of the time, anyway.
This past weekend was Mudthaw, where I managed to not make a fool of myself and get some good fencing and good lessons in. Next weekend will be Blades and Blarney where I hope to do the same. Sadly, my Sternberg bloodline will certainly be working against me.
