Can’t exactly sum up all I want to, so I’ll rant just shortly on my sleep deprivers. Or those that have caused me most worries/thoughts. XD
Firstly, I finally managed to get my oral presentation out of the way. I was totally freaking out about it and could hardly concentrate on anything else. The day before it I also had quite a headache and my temperature went up… Maybe it’s a coincidence but… In the end it went pretty much how I expected, not perfectly, but it wasn’t a catastrophe either.
Though what I didn’t expect was my incredible calmness: no shaking hands, no sweaty palms, no stuttering. Although I know that my tone of voice was a little odd sounding at times, I stumbled on a few occasions, and paused to think with a few “ums”. Also: I didn’t need my cheat paper! Practicing that presentation really did help me actually memorise it. Afterwards I felt kind of odd… I slumped onto the desk although I wasn’t tired, and a fellow student assured me that I did okay. ;)
(which must mean that I didn’t totally suck). I found it sort of amusing that I was the only person during all these times the teacher asked TWICE to be the next unfortunate victim, while everyone else actually volunteered after the “who’s next?” question. And yeah... twice, because after the first time my neighbour zealously raised her hand and stole that from me! And yes, since this was the lesson for the last few to have it, everyone wanted to go first. ;) I went next.. Nobody stole that chance from me! (Even though I just looked at the teacher with a surprised and unsure “me?”)
I’d say that I was definitely one of the worst… but my German isn’t all that bad… bad, but not that bad. And it was my first oral presentation in that language so… I couldn’t really expect much
Unfortunately it raised the interesting round of “how old were you when you learned to read”. 6-7 was a very common answer, with one 5. Okay... I learned to read when I was 4 years old, but that really doesn’t make especially smart… I just had many books. And of course only in English ;). Finnish… I suppose I learned to read in Finnish about the time I learned to speak it? I do remember however how confused I was concerning the usage of two consonants after each other. The way they were read were the opposites in those languages. XD Also I was positively surprised how easy it was compared to English… considering that with the latter one must actually know the word to be sure how it’s read…
I hardly read any actual books nowadays. It’s so sad. I remember how I used to read 50 books a month. Now... probably 15 a year. So sad. Stupid internet. XD
And… the season finale of Prison Break was absolutely awesome!!! Even the previous episode was about to that same standard!!! So much happened, so much was solved, but oh… it’s definitely nooot solved yet. And hmm... I wonder if certain “changes of plans” and coinciding plans weren’t part of the big plan after all???
After a short recovery I texted my brother. ;) I didn’t know he was going to be at home during the week as well, so yesterday I had a good chance to enthusiastically go over it... and he doesn’t mind being spoiled at all…
He and some others in the army have taken the habit of regularly watching the eps of the first season (my brother’s DVD, which I reluctantly had to return to him for that purpose).
How awesome... he’d better not spoil them.
How long is it until the 3rd season airs?????
I can’t believe that although the Easter holiday should have started I have Spanish lessons, and they take up half of my timetable and I have them twice a week, so basically I only get one day off (because I only have school on three days). I could skip them, but I can’t, because I suck at Spanish.
