So0o0o0o there has been a lot going on here at school this past week. It was so hectic last weekend because of homecoming but our Senate '09 float won first place! which was extremely exciting. It was the last week of fall ball so I thought this week would be a breeze. Well I guess that was pretty incorrect...
Yesterday I was going with Dana and Jenn bc they were getting random ear piercings in Lancaster. A little before we went, Dana heard that all of the athletic practices were cancelled because someone on the track team died. Eventually we heard who it was but not how. As the day went on, we heard more and more stories and we received an email from the campus saying that "she tumbbled from a bridge onto highway 283). Rumors we heard were that she committed suicide and aparently the reason why she died is still unknown. I knew Katelyn from one of my classes last semester and she was really good friends with two of my close friends here. More than anything, I felt bad for her family and those that were close to her here. The whole idea of this still sounds so bizarre to me and everyone here is still in shock that it could happen. I still just dont even know what to say about it.. it just blows my mind. It is so sad and makes me realize that I should be grateful for everything and everyone in my life. I have also realized that it is a shame it takes an event like that to snap everyone back to reality. Suddenly the little things that were getting to me from my friends, parents or even people I'm not super close with... they just dont matter. Just from walking around campus, you can tell that it has affected everyone and she was really well loved. Something like this could happen to anyone - she was an OT major, on the track team and had a bunch of friends who cared about her... something like this could really affect anyones life. Anyways... I'll keep her and her family and friends in my prayers. Thats just been most of what is on my mind lately and i wanted to get it off.
This weekend we have service projects Saturday for Into the Streets so I get to mulch a playground for four hours and then the big Marshmallow game versus Messiah is Saturday night so I get to see Christian!!! and the girl that transfered from our team there (that encounter will be more interesting). I had one exam today and have two exams Tuesday so there will be lots of studying for me to do this weekend. I'm pretty excited that I might go home for Variety Show one night... is anyone else going to be home for it??? Just let me know. I'm off to bed.
