my baby shot me down

Numbered lists seem to be the best way to get back into the groove of things:

  1. I finished Chuck season 2. And I liked it a lot, but I don't think I'm quite as enamoured as most of my flist seemed to be. I think a huge part of why is Sarah. I don't dislike her, really, but man, holy annoying speech impediment, Batman! The way she clenches her jaw when she speaks hurts me to watch, and all I can think of is Hugh Laurie talking about how much his mouth would hurt after speaking American all day, because I can think of no other reason why she would do that, and why it seemed to get worse and worse as the season progressed. Well, either that, or it just got more and more annoying the longer I had to watch it.

I think my favorite part about the last few episodes was Awesome finding out what Chuck really did, because I love it when established characters share secrets (see also: secret relationships).
  2. I got my eReader yesterday, and even though I've only used it for a day, I already love it to death. I don't think I can ever go back to reading (long) fic on my computer again.
  3. This Strawberry Spinach Salad sounds really yummy. I'm going to have to try that some day.
  4. I uploaded some new icons to my Scrapbook.
  5. TAR finished another season. I was really kind of bored for most of this season, and while Tammy and Victor winning was probably the best outcome I could have hoped for going into the finale, I just didn't care. I don't know, maybe it's over for me and TAR? What I wouldn't give for a Colin/Rob type person next season.
  6. I've had to take a few people off my reading filter because of spoilers, and I'm thinking of doing an flist cut. I mean, sure, it's just reaction spoilers, but just because you don't care about the show anymore (or love it so much you can't wait to Tell. Everyone. About. It), that doesn't mean I want to know. Though it seems silly to cut people right when TV is going into hybernation for the summer.
  7. Comedies are not making me dance with joy right now.

    The Office.
Which isn't doing it for me at all, even as a big chunk of my flist seems to be experiencing a renaissance of Office love. Probably because I can't stand Ryan, so his return only means I'm enjoying an even smaller part of the show, what with having to ignore scenes with both him and Michael.

    The Big Bang Theory.
Wow, what a lackluster finale. Though not quite as lackluster as last week, when I thought that one was the finale. It feels like the writers have been making all the right moves this season, only to have the finale come along to show that they don't have the faintest clue what exactly they'be been getting right. Because revisiting Leonard/Penny AGAIN? What the hell, guys?! I mean, even if that is the end goal, going there now, so soon after the last annoying revisit, is just stupid plotting. And if the idea is to finally remove the whole annoying specter of that relationship from the show, ending with something that gives the audience no enticement to return? Even stupider. Nothing about that finale makes sense from a writing point of view, in my opinion. Well, unless they're thinking they've only got one season left. Then maybe I could see it.

    HIMYM.
Um, I watched the latest episode this morning and I can't really remember what it was about? That's not a good sign. I have high hopes for next week, though. Even if I feel like the momentum building up to the finale was completely thrown off by this episode.

Oh, but I was right when I guessed in the_spin's comments last week that a) the dirty joke was the reason for Lily's absense this whole time, and b) that they timed it that way so that she'd be back in time for the last couple of episodes. Yay me!
  8. Everyone squeeing about Star Trek has made me dying to go see it, even though I think I've only watched one full episode of any of the franchises (a TNG episode where they go back in time? Or something?) Good job, flist!
  9. I'm taking the first week of June off and I can't wait! The best part is that it's vacation days I've saved from last year, so I still have five weeks of vacation coming to me after that. I'm going to try to find a cheap last minute trip to somewhere around the Mediterranean, and if that falls through, I'm going to redecorate my bedroom. Either way? So much win!
