Oh... that first season thing does not bode well for me. I can resist all but book and DVD sales...

I know that you mean. But just look at the prices! Oz was only £8. And there are plenty more. Like Deadwood for only £13. Of course I've already got that one (it's one of the DVD sets I have yet to watch, though).

I have the first season of Deadwood too, but I've only seen 2 eps so far. Enjoyed them very much, though. I've been thinking of Millennium and The Wire or Homicide, though the UK R2 got some bad reviews on Amazon. (The Swedish DVDs are available pretty cheaply, so I think I'll check them out instead.) And, Amazon has oldies like Knight Rider and Airwolf. HEE.

I never watched Millenium. I was a bit disappointed in The Wire, though, because if I'm not misremembering it was £20 in the sale, but I've seen it for £17 on previous occasions. Not that I need it, I already own season 1, but I thought it was kind of mean to sell it at that price when it's already been cheaper.

Resistance is futile! Trust me.

I couldn't believe how much better it is. I think the judges may have a lot to do with it, the judges on Top Design were horrible. Though Todd Oldham got a lot better after he got more comfortable, I thought.

You're pretty much the only person on my flist who ever talks about Oz, so your posts on the subject definitely helped influence the decision. And the £8 price tag. That's CHEAP! Even for a short-season show.

Aw I'm glad you watched GG. I'm really, really looking to the finale. I'm so happy it's going out on the right note.

I don't know if you read my lj but I love Shear Genius. It's so terrific. Wild, crazy but fun. I think Tabitha, Daisy will make final three. I don't know about Anthony. Maybe. I think Dr. Boogie/Ben are cannon fodder. But I wouldn't count Tyson out either.

But Tabatha - sheer bitchy fun with tons of talent. Wasn't that historical hair contest great?

It was kind of horrible to dislike the show just because Lorelai went pod!person in one season, so I'm glad they've righted themselves.

I think Anthony will make the final three because he's more technically proficient than the others. The problem with him - which was glaringly obvious in this challenge - is that he's not inspirational. I think Tyson is much to full of himself to not mess up by doing something horrible that he thinks is good, simply because he did it. Aside from the premiere, I've always liked Tabatha, especially when she's bitchy.

Yay, icons!

It looks like the US Amazon sale isn't as good but there's still Murder One and Hill Street Blues on sale for super cheap. I'll have to look into that.

I am, however, considering splurging on My So-Called Life, which is being released tomorrow.

I'm totally out of the loop on this. Are you talking about buying a copy of the original release or the rumored re-release by Shout!Factory? I have the original release but will definitely pick up the re-release if it has extras. Is it that the original release is only now finally getting released to your region? If so, it's about damn time. Sheesh.

I saw Murder One awfully cheap with a Swedish seller. I really enjoyed the first season until it neared the end where I felt it fell apart a bit. But maybe it works better when marathoning?

I'm talking about the region 2 release. If I'm not mistaken, it's the first ever release in R2. And yes, it's about time. Of course, I'm kind of glad I didn't have to put up with that ridiculously expensive R1 release.

It's one of those shows that I always wanted to see but it was in the timeslot of doom. I think it was up against ER and maybe even Chicago Hope when it initially aired and it just got killed. It always seemed like ths kind of show I would like now. The super-cheap sale price makes it enticing.

I got really lucky on eBay and got MSCL for about the same price as an average tv show dvd set. I think it was under $40, so picking up juiced-up new edition won't feel like it's killing my wallet too much.

I watched it back when it aired on Swedish TV, and it was really interesting to see a show with a seasonal arc done that way. Nowadays it's almost become the standard, but they really were the pioneers.

I don't know if the R2 version will have more extras. If I had to guess I'd say no, but I guess I'll have to wait until I've got it in my grubby hands before I can know for sure.
