Downloading caps
I get a lot of requests for zip uploads of caps, especially for old caps, and since I hate uploading zips I thought I'd do a do-it-yourself guide to downloading cap albums.
If you don't have Firefox, start by doing yourself a favor and installing that.
Then go to the extensions page and install DownloadThemAll!, which does exactly what it says. (I installed this extension for the sole purpose of doing this tutorial, so I'm sure there are a bunch more ways to do this, and other programs, extensions and download managers you can use [some might be even better] and if you know of another method, please share in the comments.) At this point you will need to close and restart Firefox so the extension can be installed.
Go to the gallery you want to download, I chose my Ferris Bueller's Day Off gallery.
Select any image in the gallery (thumbnail or cap, it doesn't matter), right-click and select "Copy image location" (not Copy link location!).
Paste the link in the address bar and then remove the name of the image and hit Return. This will take you to the directory where the caps are located.
Right-click anywhere inside the window where there's not a link to access the menu and select DownloadThemAll!...
The DownloadThemAll! manager will open and show you all the files that are available in the directory.
By selecting Images, DownloadThemAll! will select all the files with the correct extensions for you.
This means that all the thumbnails will also be selected, but since they're usually pretty small files I would opt to download them as well and then delete them from the folder when the download was done. If you don't want to download the thumbnails, deselect each file by clicking on the green checkmark.
Next, select where you want to save the files by clicking on the folder.
Select Start!. The download will start and you will be able to see the progress of each file in the new window that opens.
I keep forgetting to mention that I capped some movies (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Only You and Pump Up the Volume) and the Spooks season 3 premiere.
