Signs fandom has ruined me for life #415875333:

An item pops up on my BBC News news feed. Cruise halted in Channel by blaze. My first thought, honest to god: "What is Tom Cruise doing in the middle of the English Channel, I thought he was in Florida?" Follow-up thought: "At least they got the blaze part right."

I was capping the pilot of The Read more... )

OMG. I loved your spec regarding the offices coming together. The more I turned it over in my head, the more I loved it.

And I thought exactly what you say above regarding Jim v. Dwight and the office hierarchy - if it were to happen, that would put Jim above Dwight when the offices merge, which would be awesome...

Also -- and I'm pretty sure someone posted a play-by-play of this week's teaser to this so hopefully is safe for you -- Jan is going to be none too happy and far from amenable, me thinks, to looking favorable on the Scranton branch staying open after Michael's dating triangle mess comes to light.

I also recall, in the episode where Michael and Dwight fight at the Do-jo, Jim's voice-over talks about how, while another branch is downsizing (or laying people off or some such activity) to save money, Michael has extended the Scranton branch employees' lunch by an hour so they could all go witness the carnage. No where near exact words, but you get my drift, hopefully.

Put those two items together with the boys down in the wherehouse vying for a union and Michael's got the Scranton office primed for incorporation into the Stanford branch. Enter domino effect of the postponement of the wedding because of either the relocation of both Pam and Roy or maybe even Roy gets laid off? Enter the dependence of him on her and additional stress on their relationship...oh, me likey.

Though, what I'm not liking is the Jim/Jan 'ship. I'm a purist and don't really want to see them with anyone else but eachother - even if it takes a while to happen. I guess I can put up with a hardly-there gf for Jim - but even as hot as they look together in the promo, I definitely don't want to see him with Jan. No way...no how.

Aaaaand apparently I can't write a short response to your post about The Office. Sorry.
