Yeah, it sucks if you have to change what your original game plan and vision of your show was but if the characters are developing in one way and the fans are loving it? Play to it.

God, yes. You know what? If you have A VISION, go make *movies*. Because those are one-shot and there's not the wiggle room of a 22-hour/year storyline that's gonna be DISCUSSED TO DEATH by adoring fans.

I don't exactly agree with the RT needs to be fired crowd, mostly because I do think he's a great writer [Cupid & his books back me up]. I just don't think he's good at realizing TV shows are bound to change pathways more often than not.

And, you know. For all the shit RT talks about his time on Dawson's Creek, he's doing the.exact.same.thing that got Kevin Williamson fired from that show: sticking to his "vision" despite the majority of the critics/audience disagreeing with him.

For KW, it was the "Dawson/Joey soulmates 4evah" thing [which ended up with him on the street and Berlanti going all PACEY/JOEY, YOU SUCKERS! and delivering THE BEST SEASON EVER. *g*]. With RT, it's the purification/herofication of Donut vs. Logan = bad boyfriend and the VD = true love crap. Which, with the exception of the 17 Duncan fans on LJ, no one else even *understands*.

HI. I drank 3 cups of coffee and I'm out of work for the weekend and I'm HYPER.

:)

That is the truest statement I've heard in a long time. Seriously.

totally OT, do you know what Berlanti's up to these days? He left Everwood for jack & Bobby and we all know how THAT ended up... and Rina Mimoun is still show runner on Everwood, so...

Apparently Berlanti is directing a movie [romantic comedy, I think] he wrote. It's supposed to be a J.Lo vehicle. Yeah. GROAN.
