My book review and bat-article are out in the November Issue of Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine! The review is actually the first published article I've ever actually been paid for. YAY!!
Nano in 14 days!!
I've picked a genre, a premise, and a main character...
Urban Fantasy Teen Drama: The kingdom of Farion is at war, and everyone must fight--except Pax. The King and Queen decide that in order to protect the bloodline, the youngest prince must go into hiding in the alternate dimension/other world of modern America. At first the Fairy Prince in hiding just relies on his charming good looks and a little bit of magic to blend in, but when the sorcerers begin sending monsters to kill everyone at Cedar Falls High School, Pax finds himself in the middle of the war he was trying to escape. And he still needs a date for prom.
Other Stuff on my Writing Radar:
Memoir: I need to actually type up that journal I kept while I was there (May be a stretch to make 50 K words and not really in the spirit of the month though)
Post-Apocalyptic Dystopia: I've been sitting on this for a few years, and will probably continue to sit on it. I need to more research and hammer out more of the details before I dive into this.
Sci-Fi Story: I'm smack in the middle of this one at the moment. I've gotten about 1/3 of the way through TWICE and started over. Gaaaahhhh. I continue to write it passionately, despite these setbacks.
VH: Um.....haven't posted in a few weeks, but not stressing about it. I still <3 by firstie.
Rejections:
The poetry I sent out still hasn't gotten me a yay or a nay, and the kid's puzzle I made was deeped "too educational" for the game book I submitted it to. Sometime this week I'll look for some more education-oriented things to send my puzzle to.
